Karen Adamson – General Manager
Karen’s career has spanned various roles whilst working with adults with a learning disability.
Her background is in Teaching and Support and Karen has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding Learning Disabilities and Supported Employment.
Karen represents DGT among local businesses and organisations, ensuring that DGT maintains it’s excellent reputation. |

Nigel Higginson – Deputy Manager
Nigel worked as a chef in a former career before he started working with adults with a learning disability.
Now his culinary skills are used at DGT along with his other practical abilities in many areas of building, maintenance and mechanics. He is very versatile, resourceful and enjoys working with our people.
Nigel organises our daily activities and keeps DGT looking spick and span! |

Tom Lane – Head of Horticulture
Tom entered the world of Horticulture training with Toby Buckland (one of our Patrons) as his apprentice in his nursery, set in the Walled Garden at Powderham Castle.
Tom then moved to London where he worked at Middle Temple, which is one of the four Inns of Court. Whilst there he studied for his RHS Level 3 at Capel Manor College, in Regents Park.
Tom returned to Devon and is now developing the site at DGT, supporting and training our staff and attendees and is also studying Garden Design at Bicton College. |
