Working in the field is an important part of Horticulture and here at DGT we grow a lot of vegetables, which involves a variety of activities. Our work force can learn and practice anything from ground preparation, planting in rows, crop rotation and harvesting, through to mulching, log splitting and general garden maintenance – there is something for everyone and all abilities. For the more able, there is the opportunity to use and maintain machinery such as lawn mowers, strimmers and tractors.
Some of our produce is sold to local outlets and some is used in our kitchen to feed our hungry work force. As with all other aspects of work at DGT, more team work leads to greater rewards!
