Learn to care for our friends in the field. From grooming goats to walking ferrets our little farm has lots to offer.
You can prepare vegetables grown on our site to feed our friendly pigs, goats, sheep, and rabbits. And even collect fresh eggs from our hens to bake a cake!
Whatever your interests in Art & Craft, the main thing is to have fun. Our sessions are relaxed; we work on group projects. embrace individual craft ideas and also have dedicated sessions for knitting and sewing.
Our cooking adventures at DGT are dictated by the seasons. Everyone at DGT is part of the sowing and harvesting of fruit and vegetables from our field. Growing and cooking both sweet and savoury dishes gives our team an appreciation of wholesome, healthy, tasty food.
Help us take care of our local community, by maintaining cemeteries, hotel grounds and country parks. Our crews visit the site, assess the work that is required, then arrive on site with a team, machinery, and flasks of tea. Training and safety equipment is provided, all you need to bring is hard work and lunch!
Here at DGT we grow a lot of vegetables, which involves a variety of activities. Our work force can learn and practice anything from ground preparation, planting in rows, crop rotation and harvesting, through to mulching, log splitting and general garden maintenance.
At DGT we feel that creating a useful item and taking it home encourages creativity and fosters a sense of pride whilst learning a skill. Our team makes items such as plant holders, bird boxes, and bug hotels. For the keen, we also have furniture restoration, shed building and garden benches. Sessions are supervised at all times and we welcome input from support workers.
